Connect2Law Seminar: 'Employment Law Update’

Location: Capital Court, 30 Windsor Street, Uxbridge UB8 1AB

Event Date: Thursday 20 October 2011 - 4.00pm

Employment is always a fast moving area of law. However, there have recently been a number of important developments that are likely to make a particularly significant impact on the employment law landscape. This seminar will focus on these and specifically:

1. The Agency Worker Regulations 2010 - These important Regulations came into force on 1 October 2011. This seminar will provide you with a summary of the key aspects of the Regulations and how they are likely to affect businesses;

 2. The proposed Employment Tribunal reforms - The Government has recently made proposals on reforming the Employment Tribunal system. Wider proposals have also been made in relation to workforce flexibility. This seminar will review the Government's proposals and how they may impact on employees, employers and Tribunals;

3. Case law update - We will provide a summary of some interesting recent judgments and the implications of those judgments, particularly focusing on constructive unfair dismissal.

This 1.5 -2 hour seminar will also include a brief question and answer session.

This seminar carries 2 CPD points and will be presented by Jonathan Bruck, senior solicitor, IBB and Erica Humphrey, solicitor, IBB.
