Rickmansworth Festival
Location: Grand Union Canal, Rickmansworth
Event Date: Saturday 19 May 2012 - 12.00am
The Rickmansworth Festival takes place on the third weekend of May every year and celebrates canals, the community and the environment. The festival, which has been running for over fifteen years, is the highlight of the town's annual calendar and the finale of Rickmansworth Week. The top attraction for many is the array of canal boats from across the country - a unique spectacle moored along the towpath up to four deep. To find out more, visit www.rwt.org.uk/festival/2012.
Chesham Bois Fête
Location: Chesham Bois
Event Date: Saturday 26 May 2012 - 12.00am
Chesham Bois village fête is held every two years, and as the event in 2012 coincides with the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, the organisers are taking the opportunity to recreate some of the activities from the fête held to celebrate the coronation in 1952. Local schools and youth organisations will be heavily involved, and North Road will be closed to allow more space for all the entertainment planned. The day will start at 11:30 am with a fancy dress parade from the war memorial to the Common and will be followed by a children's picnic on trestle tables along North Road. Attractions will include a 1950s band, dancing displays, fun races, a children's entertainer, stalls, barbeque, tea tent, bar and lots more. The Parish Council is very thankful for the £500 financial support provided by IBB, which will help meet the expenses of the day. We hope that residents and their friends will put the date in their diaries and join us for what promises to be a special day for Chesham Bois.

Chalfont St Giles Show 2012
Location: Chalfont St Giles
Event Date: Saturday 8 September 2012 - 12.00am
The 2012 Chalfont St Giles Show will, for this year only, be held one week later on Saturday 8 September, to allow everyone to get back from their holidays (and to let those who stayed put recover from the Olympics!)
Following the success of last year's event which attracted over 6,000 visitors, the show commitee has once again been working hard to deliver a great day out for everyone, the theme of which will be 'Superheroes'. Already confirmed are the sensational White Helmets, the world's most famous motorcycle display team, who will thrill you with a variety of tricks and rides including spectacular car jumps, high speed crossovers and their trademark fire jump. The 30-strong team are all soldiers from the Royal Corps of Signals and the team this year celebrates its 85th birthday. Full event schedule and competition classes will be announced shortly - visit www.csgshow.org for updates.
Tickets this year will be £5 per adult (£3 in advance) and £2 for children - and absolutely free for kids who come dressed as their favourite superhero. In addition, parking in Mill Lane will be free. Extraordinarily good value and a great day out!
