Peter Burnett is the Head of the Charities Team. His background is in property and in wills probate and trusts, and he has had many years of specialist expertise and experience in advising on all aspects of charity law.
Peter is recommended as a leading charities specialist in the UK Legal Directory 2010. Chambers 2011 rates him as a leader in his field of practice and clients praise him for his “integrity and professionalism” as well as his “ability to understand all issues quickly”.
Peter’s major clients include the Institute of Our Lady of Mercy, The Union of the Sisters of Mercy of Great Britain, the Brentwood Roman Catholic Diocese, Ursuline Sisters (Brentwood), Musicians Benevolent Fund, The PRS for Music Members’ Benevolent Fund, the Governing Body of Rugby School and the Newham Community Renewal Programme.
Peter is himself a trustee of a number of charities, including the St Mary’s Convent Handsworth Charity and is a lay director of the Mercy International Association, based in Dublin.
