Laura Thompson is a Solicitor and a Chartered Legal Executive. She is a Personal Injury specialist, with a broad range of experience in acting for claimants and defendants.  She regularly deals with claims arising from road traffic accidents and accidents at work, as well as in claims against local authorities and other bodies in respect of accidents in public places.

Laura has experience in a wide range of cases in all areas, notably those with complex issues of liability and those involving multiple and significant injuries.  She has a growing interest in acting on behalf of those suffering from industrial related disease and also those who have been exposed to medical negligence.

In dealing with cases arising from road traffic accidents, Laura acts for drivers and passengers of motorcycles, cars and vans; as well as for cyclists and pedestrians. In addition, she has acted on behalf of children as well as adults. Laura has dealt with a number of claims made to the Motor Insurers Bureau, where fault of the accident arises from an uninsured or an untraced driver.  Laura also oversees junior fee earners in relation to claims in this area.

In dealing with claims arising from accidents at work, Laura has built up good knowledge of the equipment used and systems in place at London Heathrow Airport, having acted on behalf of a number of claimants who were unfortunate enough to sustain injury while at work there.

Laura has also dealt with claims made via the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) on behalf of victims of criminal assaults.

Career Before coming to IBB in September 2008, Laura was a paralegal fee earner at Fishers Solicitors in Maidstone, Kent, a niche Personal Injury practice where she began her career in personal injury in 2006.
