Notary

Notaries work for both commercial organisations and companies engaged in international trade as well as for private individuals with interests abroad. The most common tasks are:

  • witnessing powers of attorney for use overseas
  • authenticating deeds and documents for the purchase or sale of land and property abroad
  • documentation for the assignment and renewal of registered trademarks and patents worldwide
  • authenticating personal documents and information for immigration or emigration purposes, or to apply to marry or work abroad
  • authenticating company and business documents and transactions in foreign jurisdictions and registries
  • legalisation of documents at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (Apostille) and where necessary at the UK consulate of the country of destination.

Martin Silverman, who is principally based at IBB's Chesham office, is an experienced Notary Public and member of the Notaries Society.
