IBB Solicitors team up with Kingston Smith for our annual charities update to bring you up to speed with the legal and regulatory developments in the charity sector and also take a look ahead at what to expect in 2016.

In the first half of the seminar, IBB’s Charities Team  will provide an update on the Charities (Protection and Social Investment) Bill, and what it means for your charity and the charity sector generally. Following the re-issue of CC3 this summer, they will also present their ten point guide to everything your trustee boards need to know about their duties and responsibilities.

In the second half of the seminar, the Kingston Smith Charities Team will update delegates on the recent SORP consultation and its draft conclusions, as well as the changes to the audit threshold and independent examination. The session will also cover how charities can understand and protect themselves from the threat of cyber attacks. Finally, James Newell Director of Kingston Smith’s Fundraising department, will go through the Charity Commission’s revised version of CC20 which focuses on trustees’ responsibilities in the fundraising context.
