Celeb Teacher Charged With Sex Offences
A media contributor and former teacher living in west London is facing charges of committing sexual offences on boys at two Suffolk schools. Simon Warr, of Great West Road, Hounslow, was arrested by police officers involved in an investigation into allegations of child abuse at St George's School in Great Finborough in the eighties. The 60-year-old is accused of two counts of indecent assault and a further three counts of gross indecency with a boy at the school and is due to appear at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates' Court on September 24.
Warr, who has made numerous appearances on radio and television, including the BBC's One Show as a social media expert, is also charged with further offences at the Royal Hospital School at Holbrook in the late eighties and early nineties. He is accused of an indecent assault on a boy and a further count of gross indecency. Other media roles saw Warr on Channel 4 show That'll Teach 'Em and reporting on sport for BBC Radio Suffolk. He has also written a column for the East Anglian Daily Times newspaper. Warr is due to appear at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates' Court on September 24.
