Kate Ryan BBC Radio London Interview: Siblings and Civil Partnerships

IBB’s family law expert, Kate Ryan, was featured on the Jason Rosam show on BBC Radio London (October 5).

Kate was discussing the very topical issue of Civil Partnerships for siblings and other family relationships.

The debate centres around two sisters who have lived together for their entire adult lives and co-own their home but if one sibling dies the other would be liable for Inheritance Tax which would not apply to civil partners. The debate has been sparked by a conservative MP who raised the question of whether civil partnerships should be extended to siblings.
