Revised Charity Commission guidance on setting up and registering a charity

The Charity Commission published revised guidance on setting up and registering a charity on 5 June 2014. The revised guidance features a short, practical guide on “How to set up a Charity (CC21a)“, which cross-refers to new, more detailed, guidance on specific areas including:

  • how to choose the most appropriate structure for your charity;
  • how to write your governing document;
  • how to write charitable purposes; and
  • how to register your charity.

The Commission has also published new guidance explaining the questions it considers when it reviews an application for registration.
