Charity appoints first class lawyer as director

Peter Burnett, a Partner in IBB Solicitors, has been appointed a director of the Music Students Hostel Trust, a registered charity.

The main object of the charity is to make grants towards the cost of accommodation of needy or deserving music students, in particular for those attending the Royal Academy of Music, the Royal College of Music, Trinity Laban (formerly Trinity College of Music) and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Peter will be responsible with his co-directors for administering the charity, deciding on the appropriate levels of grant support to be given for the forthcoming year and for monitoring the allocations of grant monies subsequently made by the four conservatoires to their students in need. He has been associated with the charity for the past six years and is also its company secretary.

Peter has more than 25 years’ experience in working with charities. He is a also a trustee of St Mary’s Convent Handsworth Charity and the Durand Charitable Trust and is a director of the Mercy International Association, an international charity based in Dublin.
