Jolene Hutchison

Jolene Heads the Family Team at IBB. She has been a family solicitor for 17 years and is ranked as a leader in her field in Chambers and Partners and a recommended lawyer in the Legal 500. Jolene is also one of the few regional lawyers to have been ranked in Spears 500 a leading high-net worth publication.

Jolene’s expertise covers a wide range of family law matters with particular emphasis  on complex financial cases arising on divorce for high-net worth clients or high earners.

Career cases include a divorce with assets, including trust assets and overseas companies, worth over £10 million.

Jolene regularly handles divorces involving private limited companies and complex pension assets. Jolene works closely with the commercial teams and in-house pension experts concerning these cases.

Jolene’s expertise enables her to advise clients with regard to wealth protection through the drafting of Pre and Post- Nuptial agreements. Previous agreements involved inherited wealth in the region of £60 million. She also advises on agreements with an international element to ensure protection where other jurisdictions are involved.

During her career, Jolene has dealt with and continues to deal with complex children cases, including applications for leave to remove children from the jurisdiction and also financial claims (Schedule 1 claims) in respect of children born to unmarried parents. Jolene also advises and drafts Cohabitation Agreements.

Jolene is a committed member of Resolution, an organisation of over 5,000 lawyers and family justice professionals.

She prides herself on her ability to see the bigger picture and fight for her client’s best interests. She will however always consider Court as the last option.
