Sonal Parekh

Sonal qualified as a solicitor in 2016 and joined IBB in November 2018 in the Family and Matrimonial team.  Sonal has a special interest in Children Law ranging from contact arrangements to Prohibited Steps Orders. She believes that children get caught up in adult issues and need someone to be a voice for them.

Sonal aims to find a collaborative way forward in situations which are often charged with emotion and sensitivity; to approach the situation in a holistic manner and one where the best interests of the children are kept as a priority. Having worked with various charities for children and vulnerable adults, her approach is empathetic and compassionate. Children are emotional sponges and need to be safeguarded from long litigation or made to feel they are the reason their families are “broken”.

Sonal is a mentor to law students starting their careers in law through the University of Law Mentoring Scheme.
