Vicky Preece

Senior Solicitor

Vicky joined IBB's Childcare Team in February 2012 as a senior solicitor, and is now Deputy Team Leader. Vicky qualified as a solicitor in 2002 and became a family lawyer. In 2007 Vicky specialised in children’s law and gained accreditation to the Law Society’s Children’s panel.

Vicky is a member of the Association of Lawyers for Children and she frequently represents children and other family members in care proceedings in London, Buckinghamshire and the home counties. Vicky is also a member of Resolution and advises and represents parents and family members in Private Law Children matters, including complex matters of parental alienation and intractable disputes. Vicky has a specialist interest in adoption and is keen to advise prospective adopters, those currently in the process of making an application to the Court, or parents seeking post-adoption support services.

Vicky undertakes much of her own advocacy, including complex contested hearings in the Family Court and Court of Appeal. Vicky was awarded the prestigious Law Society Excellence Award, ‘Solicitor Advocate of the Year’ in 2017.  Vicky is cited as a recommended lawyer in the Legal 500, where she is described as 'intelligent, thoughtful and insightful'.  She is often instructed in complex matters and her reported cases include;

Vicky is a member of IBB Charitable Trust's 'Giving Committee', which recommends the making of charitable donations on behalf of the Trust, and fundraises for the Trust. Outside of work Vicky is an active member of her local Parish Church and volunteers for Junior Church and is a member of the PCC. She is also a keen horse rider, having competed in British Eventing competitions at 3 day event level.
