Annual Return 2014: Consultation on proposed changes

The Charity Commission has published a consultation on its proposals to introduce changes to the Annual Return and the content of the Register of Charities from 2014 onwards. The Commission has developed 10 new proposals, which include removing the requirement for charities with an income over £1 million to complete a Summary Information Return. Instead, all charities will have the option to include information on their achievements and aims to be published on the Register. The Commission is also considering whether a new question should be included asking whether the charity pays its trustees. The consultation closes on 17 July 2013. Responses can be submitted online or sent by email to informationstrategy@charitycommission.gsi.gov.uk.
