Annual Return 2016: Campaign Expenditure Omitted

The Charity Commission has confirmed that it will not to ask charities to disclose how much they spend on campaigning in their 2016 Annual Return. The Commission first considered the inclusion of campaign expenditure in the 2015 Annual Return but decided against it, with a view to revisit its decision this year. The Commission has said that it recognises the “administrative burden” this would impose on charities and that the 2016 Annual Return will be “broadly the same” as last year.
