Property and compensation consultation given the go-ahead

Justine Greening MP, the Secretary of State for Transport, has today issued a statement that the property and compensation consultation will now go ahead after Parliament returns from its summer recess in September.

The consultation on safeguarding is planned for the same time as the detailed compensation proposals – after the summer recess.

James del Mar, head of the HS2 team at Knight Frank comments: “This is much as we all thought and predicted; the scheme is now at least 12 months behind the originally proposed schedule – but the cross party support remains. Our advice remains that prudent land and estate owners, farmers and all those affected by the proposals should be giving detailed consideration, not only to the proposals, but also to how they are preparing to engage with the consultation process.”
