Catherine Morris

Catherine joined IBB Law following a merger with Owen White Solicitors in January 2023.

Catherine joined Owen White as a trainee solicitor in 2017 and qualified as a Solicitor in the Litigation Department in 2019.

Catherine advises on a range of commercial matters including breaches of franchise agreements, misrepresentation claims, commercial contract disputes and shareholder disputes.

Catherine also represents employers and employees in a variety of employment disputes. Working with Victoria Eustace, she has provided assistance on unfair dismissal claims at the Employment Tribunal. She also advises on settlement agreements and the enforcement of restrictive covenants in employment contracts.

Recent Client Work

  • LA Micro Group (UK) Ltd & And v LA Micro Group, Inc & Ors [2021] EWHC 140 (Ch) – Successfully acted for the Claimants in securing declaratory relief recording the ownership of the disputed shareholding and entitlement to the company’s profit in a computer wholesale business which has been the subject of litigation in the UK and California for a decade.
  • Successfully negotiated a higher compensation payment for an employee who was dismissed by way of redundancy, doubling the original compensation payment offered.
  • F v JLL and CP – acted for a beneficiary at mediation following the failure of executors to effectively administer an estate. Settled confidentially at mediation.
  • Acted for an employer pursuing an ex-employee for fraudulent actions. Settled confidentially at mediation.
  • Acted for a franchisee with multiple franchises in a High Court misrepresentation claim.
  • Advised employers on the redundancy process.
  • Acted on behalf of an international designer to settle disputes and negotiate a new trade agreement.
  • Drafted employment contracts for employers.
