HM Treasury has published a consultation document ‘Gift Aid and Digital Giving’ outlining Government’s proposals to make it easier for charities to claim Gift Aid on donations through various digital giving channels. The consultation seeks your views on how the legal framework for Gift Aid declarations can be adapted for digital giving. The deadline for submitting comments is 20 September 2013. The Government will publish a summary of responses to the consultation later in 2013. Where appropriate, legislation will be brought forward in either Finance Bill 2014 or Finance Bill 2015.
