Failure of Exam Board BTec

Failure of Exam Board, Pearson, to provide results disadvantages BTec students who are losing out on University places to students who have received their results.

Finally, students saw a return to “normality” and resumption of physical exams this year following the Covid-19 pandemic.

Despite concerns about proposed strikes of Exam Board staff which may have impacted students receiving their results, last Thursday, 18 August 2022, most A-level, BTec and T-level students received their results.

However, some BTec students have not yet received their results from Exam Board, Pearson.

Without their results, BTec students are not able to secure their University places but can only hope that their first choice University will hold their place whilst they await their results.  Meanwhile, of course, those students who have received their results are able to secure their University places.

BTec students who hoped to gain a place through Clearing may therefore already have been pipped to the post by those who have already received their results.

At IBB we understand the stress and frustration caused to these students who have already endured such disruption to their education through the pandemic.
