Tier 2 General: RLMT Exemption For High Value Businesses and Inward Investments

The statement of changes in the Immigration rules has been published today on 16 March 2017. The Government has honoured their commitment to support employment of overseas workers for roles associated with the relocation of a high-value business to the UK or a significant new inward investment project. A newly-registered (within the last 3 years) branch or subsidiary of an overseas business looking to make a new capital expenditure of £27 million or create at least 21 new UK jobs will be exempt from carrying out a Resident Labour Market Test and from the requirement to assign a restricted Certificate of Sponsorship under the Tier 2 (General) limit.
