Russell Hallam

Russell is a partner in the Private Client group within the Wills, Trusts and Probate team and brings with him over 33 years of private client experience.

Russell specialises in:

Russell holds a significant number of appointments as deputy, attorney, trustee and executor and is used to acting in complex and high-value cases.

He works closely with our wealth planning team to provide end to end financial and estate planning advice to clients. He is nationally one of only sixty or so carefully selected Panel Deputies who are appointed by the Court of Protection in circumstances where there is no one to look after the financial affairs of those who have lost capacity to make decisions for themselves or where existing deputies and attorneys are replaced where financial abuse may be suspected.

Russell has acted in estates where, following a dispute, he has been appointed by the court as an independent administrator to replace the previous personal representative and to enable the administration of the estate to be completed.

Russell’s niche strengths are tax and estate planning for owners and managers of small to medium-sized businesses and the creation and management of trusts for families where a member of it has learning disabilities. As part of this work, he is invited by Mencap and Parkinson’s UK to speak to families impacted by such issues.

Russell holds membership of the Association of Lifetime Lawyers.

A graduate from Sheffield University Russell joined the firm of Turbervilles in 1983 as a trainee after gaining honours in the Solicitors Final Examinations. He became a Partner there in 1987. He was the Managing Partner of Turbervilles when it merged with IBB on 1st January 2018 and brings with him 33 years of sector specialism alongside wide-ranging experience in business to add value to the clients that he acts for.
