Real Estate Dispute Resolution - Private Clients
IBB’s Real Estate Dispute Resolution team comprises highly experienced lawyers who are dedicated solely to resolving property disputes. The team is recognised for its expertise and it is considered as one of the leading property litigation teams in London, the Thames Valley and the South East. We regularly act for private property owners and occupiers in West London, Middlesex, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.
We appreciate that disputes, particularly with adjoining landowners, can be distressing and we aim to resolve matters as sensibly and quickly as possible. We also understand that legal costs are an unwelcome expense and we will discuss with you at the outset our estimate of fees and finding options.
We have the capacity to comfortably handle property disputes at all levels and the team deals regularly with cases in the High Court, County Courts as well as matters before the Adjudicator for the Land Registry, Leasehold Valuation Tribunal and the Lands Tribunal. When required, we encourage clients to consider alternative dispute resolution through mediation or arbitration.
Senior team members are independently recognised legal experts and are active members of the Property Litigation Association.

The Legal 500 in 2012 says:
"IBB’s ‘strong, diverse team’ provides ‘accurate and comprehensive advice’. It represented The Dorchester Group in a complex claim against BNP Paribas, and Inter-IKEA in a £60m breach of contract case. Hasbro also instructed the firm on two landlord issues relating to an industrial estate in Wales. Jon Mowbray is an experienced litigator."
Chambers in 2013 says:
The two-partner real estate litigation team at IBB Solicitors is well regarded for acting for commercial developers, corporate property portfolios and national house builders. The group also has particular expertise in the field of terminal dilapidations. One recent highlight involved acting for Bellway Homes on a claim against the Homes and Communities Agency for a declaration in arbitration proceedings. Other notable clients include Aviva, Dorchester Group, Xerox and Hasbro.
Department head Andrew Olins is "an expert on dilapidations" and clients praise that he is "a lateral thinker, intelligent, intellectual and astute." Olins advised the Dorchester Group on a £60million claim against Inter Ikea and BNP Paribas for breach of a non-circumvention agreement.
The "excellent" Jonathan Mowbray "gives clear and concise advice," sources report. He recently acted for Hasbro on providing advice on the exercise of a conditional break option on the lease of a property in North Wales.
