IBB Law LLP sees a large number of Top Tier rankings.

The much anticipated Legal 500 2022 rankings were released this week and IBB Law saw 13 of its partners ranked as Leading Individuals and a total of 19 individual rankings and 17 practice areas recognised.

IBB once again features prominently in the South-East category, with recognition in London, Buckinghamshire, the Thames Valley.

Commercial Property

IBB Law’s Commercial Property group, led by Jon Mowbray received  four Leading Individual rankings for property litigators Jon Mowbray and Andrew Olins, Construction & Engineering Partner Paul Brampton and Residential Development Consultant Bill Bidder. Susan Mawson  retained the highly-sought-after Hall of Fame status.

The Legal 500 says of Bill:

Bill Bidder handles complex land assembly issues, collaboration agreements and promotion agreements.

A client of the firm, interviewed by Legal 500 said :

Commercial services

IBB Law’s Corporate & Commercial team led by Hall of Fame ranked Adam Dowdney, retained its Top Tier firm status, with both Adam Dowdney and Harriet Jones receiving individual recognition. The directory describes them as:

 Practice leader Adam Dowdney is known for his work on complex transactions across a range of business sectors. Harriet Jones deals with business restructurings, acquisitions and disposals, and shareholder agreements.

IBB’s Employment Law team  continues to stand out in the region , retaining its Top Tier ranking and two Leading Individuals, including for Commercial Services Group Head Justin Govier.

The Immigration team, led by partner Richard Devall, continues to rank in the South East region

Private Clients

IBB continues to sit in the Top Tier for both Family Law and Personal Tax, Trusts and Probate. It is also recognised for its growing Contentious Probate practice and Court of Protection work.

The group is led by Amanda Melton who is recognised both for  her expertise in family law and contentious probate. Amanda is described as:

Amanda Melton is quick to grasp details and offers sound and reasonable advice, non-confrontational and a pleasure to work with.

Head of the Wills Trusts and Probate Team Jacqueline Almond is named as a Leading Individual for her Personal Tax, Trusts and Probate expertise and also for her Court of Protection work:

… is skilled at advising on property and affairs matters in addition to a range of other issues including acting as litigation friend in Court of Protection proceedings and advising on statutory wills.

Criminal Defence

Partner Eddie Tang finds himself in the elite group of solicitors who is ranked as a Leading Individual in two distinct regions for his work on serious criminal cases. Eddie is described as:

Eddie Tang is a very experienced and knowledgeable practitioner. He specialises in serious cases and those involving complex evidence and often difficult clients.

The Legal 500 describes IBB’s Criminal Defence team as ‘ [IBB] has strength in depth in the serious fraud and financial space, as well as considerable expertise in serious offences. Practice lead Joanne Gibbons handles a range of matters, including complex cases involving children. Eddie Tang is highly recommended by clients and advises on serious complex matters including murders, firearms offences, motoring-related crimes and drug conspiracies.’

John Milner is also recognised as a leading individual, the directory says of his work,  ‘fraud and business crime team, led by John Milner, continues to represent clients on high-value SFO and FCA criminal fraud trials. Kam Varaitch oversees the crown court department and defends proceeds of crime prosecutions.’

Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence

The PI and Clinical Negligence Team, led by Malcolm Underhill is once again recognised as ‘notably strong in high-value and complex medical negligence cases, particularly those involving brain injuries that have arisen from incorrect medication advice. The department is led by Malcolm Underhill, who is one of the relatively few accredited brain injury specialists in the UK.’
